I’m Kerry Winfrey. I write books like WAITING FOR TOM HANKS, VERY SINCERELY YOURS, and FAKING CHRISTMAS.
No One Asked is my space to delve into all the obsessions that, well, no one asked me to write about. I love writing long movie recaps (like this one for Cher’s 80s legal thriller Suspect), crying to Mike Mills movies, analyzing mostly forgotten Backstreet Boys videos, and going deep on Jonathan Franzen’s Crossroads. Sometimes I write about my love of exercise videos and short stories. Much like Walt Whitman, I contain multitudes. Unlike Walt Whitman, I don’t look great with a beard and a wide-brimmed hat.
Most posts are free, although only paid subscribers get my monthly roundup (where I share everything I’ve seen/read and a few embarrassing personal stories) and my recaps of Phyllis Reynolds Naylor’s Alice books. I’m so grateful for all free and paid subscribers, and I’m so glad you’re here.
