Black Narcissus still haunts me. I watched it as a pre teen and it left such a spooky impression. Same with Midnight Cowboy. I also did not have a good time watching, but still think about it 15 years later and agree completely that you can enjoy or appreciate something, without actually liking it.
Also, Cher is obviously, always perfect, in all scenarios.
Before the Thanksgiving parade that song debuted in a Hallmark movie where a group of friends go to a SantaCon and join a silent disco — they put on headphones and that song dropped and I actually said aloud "IS THIS CHER!?!" It was a truly ridiculous and magical moment.
I am on a long forced break from Peloton, also because of Covid, and, yeah, I did NOT realize how much of my mental health was dependent on being able to ride that bike! I remembered your recommendation of the meditations for healing so I've been doing those almost daily, but I'm not going to feel fully better until I can do the rides again.
Ugh I'm sorry!! I hope you feel better soon. I know how incredibly frustrating that is. I really loved Kirra's yin yoga and also her Creating Space series (which made me cry).
Tricep pushups are indeed terrible, but if you can't do them on the ground, do them against the wall! They totally still work, and it's much easier (I can no longer do ANY pushups because of a wrist injury, so I do all pushups against the wall)
it's me, I Care Very Deeply about all your summer projects! please consider this "Alicia Asked" although I know it would fuck up your newsletter title so it's cool if you don't want to change it! I love that you tell your son what's happening in your murder mysteries and he enjoys it.
I'll always refer to this as "Alicia Asked," if only in my head!
It's fun to describe books to someone who hasn't read that much yet and isn't aware of genre tropes. I was telling him how all these characters were stuck on an island and they kept dying, and he was like, "do you think the murderer is...one of them?" And I was like...you know what...I think that just might be the case.

Two haunting movies, for very different reasons!

This is a great tip! I'll try it next time Tunde tortures me.
