I promised myself I would get the monthly roundup out today because tomorrow is the election. Have you heard about this? Our nightly Wheel of Fortune viewing has been besieged with political ads…I long for the days when the ads were just for medications and those phones that read texts to you (WOF ads, much like the show itself, are intended for elderly people). I’m mostly trying not to think too much about the election, but I’m very worried about it. I think I’m too old and jaded to ever truly love a politician at this point (sometimes I think back to 2008, when I attended a Barack Obama rally downtown…was I ever so young), but I do love Sherrod Brown. He’s from Mansfield! He and my dad went to the same high school!
My son asked me if I could endorse Kamala Harris and I had to break it to him that regular people don’t endorse candidates—that’s kind of a politician/celebrity thing1. But I think it’s probably pretty obvious that I’m voting for Kamala—I can’t imagine anyone who reads this being surprised about that. There’s my endorsement!
Let’s get to it, and let’s hope we all get through this week. This month we’re discussing: my most-repeated fall recipes, my trip to the dermatologist (behind the paywall because bodies are gross, but if you’re nervous about going and want to know what it’s like, just email me), a little bit about walking 10,000 steps a day and my new fitness challenge, a few scary movies, and more!
