I have to watch IMT now. I watched Violets are Blue recently and it kind of fits the theme although came out in 1986. I watched it because it was set and filmed in Ocean City, MD (State pride). And starred Sissy Spacek & Kevin Kline! It was weird and provided a bit of nostalgia in the setting.

Please see Truly Madly Deeply IMMEDIATELY. It’s the best. I just finished It’s My Turn and I get the Miss Piggy thing, totally. What a weird movie! His “I love you, Sis” at the airport was just NO NOPE NO.

DO NOT CALL THE WOMAN YOU SLEPT WITH "SIS," BEN!! I feel like you have specifically recommended Truly Madly Deeply to me before so I really need to see it!

I really think you would like this one (and not just because it's a little bit about baseball)!

I just finished Al Pacino’s memoir and he dated Jill Clayburgh and he SAYS SUCH LOVELY THINGS ABOUT HER. And about working with her daughter Lily Rabe.

This was so good---will definitely be renting this. Love Charles Grodin, especially in the buddy pic Midnight Run. Trying to think of recent movies that have this kind of confidence in the audience. Worst Person in the World (Norway) was great. Truly Madly Deeply is all kinds of weird and from the 90s. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind--early 2000s. Is Silver Linings Playbook in this category? No wonder Fleabag was such a hit. Would love to see you publish a book of your romcom reviews!

The Worst Person in the World is one of my all-time favorites!! I love everything you listed, except I haven't seen Truly Madly Deeply (clearly I should!). And thank you so much for the kind words...one of my dreams is to someday publish some kind of nonfiction about movies!
