I have never seen this movie but once again you make me want to. Maybe I'll borrow from the library again so I can keep it for 3 weeks too long and have my borrowing privileges temporarily cut off.
Creme Savers are back! At least the strawberry and orange ones. And more wisely available then when they first came back a year it two ago. Also I feel like Miranda July would very much appreciate you reading her stories under those very particular circumstances and I am very much looking forward to your future John Hawkes commentary. I still find him feeding, although I'm not sure I've seen him in anything since Deadwood, so that might not actually be true.
Anyway, I loved this dive into this film. I have very specific Watching It At The Art House Cinema memories, but not sure I want to revisit it myself. But I'm totally going to go follow Miranda July's Instagram!
I live in my hometown now and every time I drive past the old Hollywood Video (now a real estate office) I think about the hours I spent in there with my friends and my heart breaks a little that my son won't experience a wander, a debate, a rec, a rightly-irritated but indulgent clerk...sigh.
