Waiting for Tom Hanks bonus chapter: The Engagement

Waiting for Tom Hanks 1.5? Still Waiting for Tom Hanks? I don't know, the title's up in the air.

Way back in the early days of 2023, when I was trying to encourage people to preorder my book Faking Christmas, I wrote a Waiting for Tom Hanks bonus chapter as a preorder incentive. Several people asked me if I would ever make it available to everyone. Well, the time has come. This chapter happens after Waiting for Tom Hanks ends and before Not Like the Movies begins. WFTH ends with a cute little stylized newspaper headline telling the reader that Drew and Annie are engaged (not a spoiler, this is a rom-com…did you think they were going to break up??). NLTM begins with Annie planning her wedding. So what happened? How did Annie, rom-com expert that she is, get engaged? These were the questions that plagued me until I remembered that I wrote this book and could quite easily write that scene. So here it is! It makes me feel kind of weird to just send this out to everyone, so it’s a paid subscriber perk. At least now I feel like you have to want to read this for it to show up in your inbox.

This chapter features pretty much every character from Waiting for Tom Hanks, plus the kind of movie references you’ve come to expect and/or get annoyed at me for writing, plus the typical vomit you get in a Kerry Winfrey book. What’s a romance without a little puke, I always say.
