One thing I’m looking forward to in the first half of 2024 is being on a more regular newsletter schedule. I’m not actively promoting Faking Christmas since it’s been out for months and it’s, well, a Christmas book (does anyone buy a Christmas book in January? I mean, I suggest you do, but I suspect interest will wane until late fall when I hope it will pick back up again). I’ll be doing pretty limited book events this year because this is the first year in seven years that I don’t have anything new to promote. I will have some events this year, mostly local and in conversation with other authors, which reminds me: if you’re an author and traveling through Columbus (or really anywhere in Ohio) and you need a conversation partner, feel free to reach out. I love being a conversation partner—I get to enjoy the energy of the event but without the pressure of people coming to see me. It’s sort of like being a bridesmaid.
All this to say: the monthly roundup has been off-schedule for months but I’m excited to get back into it. I’ve watched and read a lot of things since we last caught up. I also have many more thoughts on Dakota Johnson, but what else is new? New year, same me! Also discussed this month: doing 30 Days of Yoga again, a fun picture book, knitting, and why I had to stop scrolling Instagram for awhile.
