My favorite band, Camera Obscura, does an incredible cover of that song:

I have never seen this! I just saw Camera Obscura for the first time ever a few weeks ago and they were wonderful!

I absolutely LOVE Rod Stewart 🩷 he had a concert about 90 min north of where I live last year and I’m kicking myself for not going.

The man has a catalogue full of bangers!! I'm impressed he's still touring.

Oh my goodness, I have so much to say about this post!

1. I've just discovered Cat Sebastian and devoured her Sedgwick series on audio, so am excited for her first contemporary!

2. I read the first three Throne of Glass books and then got bored and have never read another Sarah J. Maas book.

3. We watched Where the Wild Things Are as a family recently and it was my first time seeing it since being a mom and the last scene of Max and his mom made me BAWL.

4. When we left the theater after seeing The Sheep Detectives, my December-born daughter said, "I'm a winter lamb!" Tears.

4. My reveiw of Mandalorian and Grogu was please give me a entire movie about the Anzellans.

5. I thought Pavements was absolutely brilliant. I laughed my entire ass off and had so much fun. The editing in that thing is crazy good. On the Alex Ross Perry flip side though, I HATED his recent Videoheaven. What pretentious, overlong nonsense.

6. RE TV: PLEASE WATCH WIDOW'S BAY, PLEASE.

7. You hit me with a weird bit of MTV (or maybe VH1) nostalgia with that Rod Stewart video. I still know every word to that song.

8. During the height of Covid, we took our daughter to Great Wolf Lodge for her birthday which is December 15th, so it was also Christmas time at the lodge and it was magic. She was so spoiled by the staff, there was a Santa, it snowed in the lobby at certain times of the day, we love that place.

Omg! The winter lamb!!! That's so sweet.

I WISH they had a whole movie about the Anzellans. They had star power!

That's good intel about Videohaven because I've been interested (Maya Hawke narration) but hesitant (Alex Ross Perry). I'll probably start it and then abandon it.

So many people have talked up Widow's Bay so I've been carefully avoiding reading anything about it or even looking at Instagram quote roundups so that when I finally do get around to it, I won't be spoiled!

I love that Great Wolf Lodge story! It makes me want to go back at Christmas.

Is Sleeping Bear Dunes the one with signs that say it's $3000 to rescue anyone who can't climb back up to the top?? I both love a challenge and hate being out three grand.

Kerry Winfrey's avatar

lol yes there are signs that are like “it will take HOURS and THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to rescue you!!” and that was all the encouragement I needed not to try anything above my level. The part we climbed was being done by literal toddlers so I figured I could do it.

Her Fearful Symmetry has lived rent free in my mind for 15 years. Anytime I see anything about Highgate, I’m transported back there!

WHY are smoothies so expensive now?! I was going to get one yesterday, but balked at the price. (Technically it should have been free for national smoothie day, but apparently they lied when they said "free smoothie with food purchase" because a cookie did not qualify!) Smoothies should be six dollars and include a free boost, I'm not paying double digits for a glass of blended fruit!
