Monthly Roundup Vol. 21
I spiraled a little bit but now we're back with so many movies and a lot of music
The newsletter is, shall we say, a bit off schedule. I took a week off for my kid’s spring break, although it’s not like we went anywhere. But we did do a lot of fun things and I knew I wouldn’t have much time to sit at my computer and update the world (“the world”) on every single thing I’d read and watched.

And then I planned to get right back into the newsletter but I fell into kind of a low self esteem spiral that proved very hard to escape. You may remember that back in January I pledged to get better at avoiding negative self-talk…well, I sure did go back on that goal! Whoops! It’s hard to send out a newsletter about your own thoughts on things when you can’t stop thinking that your own thoughts are very stupid and no one should hear them, perhaps not even yourself. Seasonal transitions are always really hard for me and bring out some pretty intense self-loathing. This is more true of spring than fall (this is why spring is my least favorite season! Sorry to spring!). I’ve had to put more energy than usual into just…feeling okay. I’ve done this primarily by getting very much back into Yoga with Adriene. Any feeling you have, she has a video for it. I’m sort of making my one-sided relationship with her load bearing, but that’s okay. I think.
Tfw you’re spiraling but also you’re kind of convinced an Adriene Self Love sweatshirt would solve your problems. This was actually a good video, though.
But now I’m here, hopped up on a fountain Coke Zero from McDonald’s (please don’t judge me, I can’t even mentally handle that right now) and ready to finish this roundup. I watched SO many movies, you guys. Also I started shopping at Aldi. This one is extra long because I’m so behind…it’s so long that Substack is giving me the ol’ “this is too long for email” speech so you may need to read it in your browser/the app. Let’s get into it!
