Monthly Roundup Vol. 11
Movies, music, stand-up comedy, kids' birthday parties, and roller skating
Spring break (James Franco voice: spring break forever) just ended so now I’m back with a monthly roundup! As a reminder, these posts are usually just for paid subscribers. All subscribers, paid or not, are my close personal friends but I so appreciate those of you who are willing/able to pay and I try to make these posts very long to make it worth your while. If you would like to be a paid subscriber but can’t afford it, just respond to this and I’ll comp you—no need to prove anything because I can’t imagine why you’d lie about this. I mean, I think my newsletter is fun but ultimately it’s mostly movie recommendations. This month we’re talking about all sorts of things, like drunk people at comedy shows, the kids birthday party landscape, Kurt Russell being hot, Oreos, and roller skating. Also I watched the fourth season of True Detective and did not like it. If you don’t want to miss out, you can subscribe here!
But first! Last week I had the chance to be the conversation partner for a Sarah Adams event at a store that is seemingly called both Books & Co. and Books-a-Million in Dayton/Beavercreek (you might think, Kerry, why don’t you know the name of the store and I would challenge you to google it, because the name is different everywhere. The outside of the store says Books & Co but the sign we’re in front of says Books-a-Million; figuring this out is simply above my pay grade). As I’ve mentioned before, I really enjoy being a conversation partner! Sarah was such a gem and it was a treat to watch her interact with her readers, who love her. Her new book, The Rule Book, is a lot of fun and I always recommend her for anyone who wants to read a truly cozy, feel-good rom-com.
Okay, let’s get to it!
